Today we are pleased to share the amazing stories of the caregivers of 11 open source AI projects selected for the second cohort of GitHub Accelerator Showcase. Congratulations to all 11 projects and supervisors for what you have achieved!
This is a celebration of the developers shaping the future of open source AI and invites you to join them on their journey. In this presentation, you’ll meet each developer, learn the unique story of each open source AI project, and see project demos of their innovative technology.
Impact of GitHub Accelerator
Over the past 10 weeks, maintainers from around the world, including Australia, Austria, Brazil, Canada, France, England, and the United States, participated in a cohort-based program. Participants gained insights from industry leaders and experts from GitHub and Microsoft and beyond, explored navigating the complexities of building open source AI technologies such as legal, ethical, and responsible AI, and learned about complex open source topics such as community health, sustainability, and security. The selected open source AI projects were provided with curriculum, mentoring and $40,000 in non-dilutive funding through GitHub Sponsors. These maintainers have built a strong community for open source and AI and learned new technologies like securing software with GitHub Security Lab or building with GitHub Copilot. We’ve built a more secure, connected open source ecosystem that we’re all committed to moving forward together.
