GitHub Copilot now available in github.com for Copilot Individual and Copilot Business plans

Today, GitHub Copilot Individual and Business plans now include preview access to Copilot functionality, including GitHub Copilot Chat, on github.com. By integrating with GitHub, Copilot can leverage the rich context of repositories, pull requests, issues, actions, and more, giving you more valuable interactions, tailored coding support, and an AI-native developer experience with GitHub.

With this latest release, GitHub Copilot is now ubiquitous for all Copilot users in the IDE, Visual Studio Code, browser, and mobile devices, supporting you throughout the software development lifecycle. Whether you’re using browser or mobile, you can now use Copilot not only as an AI pair programmer that makes code suggestions, but also as a coding assistant based on entire codebases, conversations between coworkers, and workflows.

Dive deeper with OpenAI o1

For questions that require more time and more intensive analysis by GitHub Copilot to create an answer, switch to immersive mode or go directly to github.com/copilot. You can even try one OpenAI o1 model to advance your conversation. We know that one model is not suitable for every single task. While the base model for GitHub Copilot Chat, GPT-4o, may provide satisfactory explanations of pull request differences and generate great boilerplate code, o1-preview or o1-mini may be suitable for complex tasks such as building advanced algorithms or helping with that Fix performance errors much better.
